Rachel Matheson

March 8, 2018

Rachel is a certified Mindfulness coach and Workplace Productivity facilitator

With a Business degree in Marketing and Japanese Rachel started working in Tourism before launching her marketing career in one of NZ’s leading exporting companies. This role saw her managing customers and selling primary produce into various Asian markets including Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Rachel then joined, an Auckland based marketing consultancy firm running projects in banking, construction, manufacturing, transport and sport. Much of this work focused on customer service, company culture, branding and building effective teams that aligned to the goals and values of the organisations.

When she relocated to Australia with her family in 2009 Rachel took up a training opportunity to facilitate a leading workplace Productivity Program within  Australian Government departments. She continued to deliver this program on her return to Auckland in 2013 into both the private and public sectors. It was during this time that she became curious about Mindfulness, recognising the importance of staff understanding their mindsets before sustainable workplace change can be truly realised.

After a year recently working for Parliamentary Services, Rachel has now returned to her passion of training and facilitation. She has an energetic, engaging style and has a passion helping people be the best they can be, while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Rachel lives in Cambridge with her husband and three daughters.

Jennifer Young (known by many as ‘Jen Y’ because she’s a member of Generation Y/Millennial Generation) is a Leadership Development Consultant, accredited Ovio Mindfulness Facilitator, NeuroLeadership Institute trained Coach and Writer.

Without realising it, Jen Y has been practising mindfulness and yoga from a young age thanks to her mother teaching her these techniques at primary school age. However, it wasn’t until experiencing high stress and anxiety while studying law at university that she was formally introduced to the benefits of regular yoga practice and meditation by a mentor. These practices were invaluable in helping her cope with a transformative few years after graduating, going on a 21 day Outward Bound course, changing career direction and founding ‘Jen Y Insights’ in 2016.

In her spare time she volunteers her time with Camp Quality and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards programme, spends as much time walking outside with friends and dogs as possible and regularly blogs about youth leadership development, the changing nature of work and mindfulness.
